Featured Photographer – Nicholas Tan

All the way in Singapore where Lamborghini LP640’s cost $1 million and LP560’s cost $800k comes our latest featured photographer by the name of Nicholas Tan. Singapore has always piqued our interest with its diversity and culture. Although we haven’t had the chance to visit Singapore, we’ve gotten a good sense of the atmosphere by viewing photos taken by Nicholas. What looks like a beautiful country is also home to some of the most exquisite exotics available such as FOUR Lamborghini Reventon Roadsters out of 15 made. Read more as Nicholas gives us an inside look on his photography and the car culture in Singapore…

It all began when Nicholas received a Canon DSLR from his mom for his 16th birthday 3 years ago. Combining his main passion for cars with his new photography hobby, Nicholas started doing photoshoots with cars shortly after. What really got his foot in the door was when his buddy with a red Lamborghini Murcielago had him perform a professional photoshoot.

Word eventually started to spread around of his talents and he started to perform more photoshoots for Ferraris, Porsches, Lambos, etc. Nicholas also has close relations to the Singapore Lamborghini club since they have him cover all their events. Not a bad way to network if you ask me!

When asked where Nicholas gets his inspiration from, he said his favorite photographers are Jason Thorgalsen and Oskar Bakke who we’ve previously featured.

As for the car culture, it is mind boggling how many and what kinds of exotic cars are in this small country. Of 350 Lamborghini LP670 SV’s made, 20 reside in Singapore and sold for $1.5 million new. As stated earlier there are 4 Lamborghini Reventon Roadsters out of 15 made in Singapore. Asking price? Just a modest $15 million each.

If you’re wondering why there are so many Lamborghini’s and Ferrari’s in Singapore, the reason is because Singapore does not allow LHD (left hand drive) vehicles to be used for road use. That doesn’t stop the rich from collecting them however. Hidden in many collections are various supercars such as the Carrera GT, McLaren SLR, Ford GT, Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari F50, Bugatti Veyron, etc that simply just collect dust and are never seen on the road.

We want to thank Nicholas Tan for sharing with us his awesome photographs as well as giving us an inside look at the insane car culture of Singapore.
