Secret Academy Episode - Matt McGeever

A native of suburban Philadelphia, Matthew McGeever started his first business at 17 brokering cars on eBay. Matthew attended college at Wake Forest University in North Carolina and continued selling cars, this time for an authorized BMW dealer. In the summers in between years of college, he worked for a commercial real estate developer and the bug hit him. Upon graduating, he sought out property to purchase on his own, initially focusing on apartment conversions and then branching into commercial properties with the acquisition of his automobile shop. Today, he pursues residential flips, advises other investors and is adding more commercial properties to his portfolio, to hold long term. Throughout the years, Matthew’s former automobile clients and contacts sought him out for advice on where to take their cars to have various items fixed, which turned into “can you just see to it for me?” Recognizing the opportunity, Matthew hired a mechanic and began to repair cars for people one at a time as a sideline to his real estate operations. Word of mouth, repeat and referral business soon proved to be too great to ignore, so Matthew purchased and rehabbed a 12,000SF property specifically to be an automobile shop. Brent Morgan Motorcars focuses on repair and restoration of primarily vintage Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Porsche and other European cars. Through extensive networking and contacts, he tripled the business over the course of one year and currently employs 5 people. His personal fleet includes a 1972 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 4.5, a 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500 E and a 1995 Ferrari F355 Berlinetta.
